RAW RECIPE: Hot Chocolate Drink

image

"Oh, the weather outside is frightful…." There’s just something about Christmas Carols and winter temperatures that make me long for a warm cup of hot cocoa.  But, since I gave up dairy and refined sugars (and you don’t normally think of the word "hot" with raw food) I thought that Hot Chocolate was no longer a part of my holiday traditions.  NOT!  Here’s a delightfully yummy-in-the-tummy Hot Chocolate recipe! Your Vita-Mix blender will warm it up just enough so that it’s a wonderful warm drink on a cold day.

RAW RECIPE:  Hot Chocolate Drink

Ingredients:

2 cups warm filtered water

4 Tablespoons agave syrup

1/4 cup cacao powder

1 1/2 Tablespoons coconut butter (not coconut oil)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract, without alcohol

1/8 teaspoon Himalayan Salt

1/4 cup hemp seeds (optional)

Instructions:

Blend all ingredients until smooth and warm in Vita-Mix blender. For an extra filling, nutritious and creamy drink, add the hemp seeds.

REMEMBER TO USE 100% ORGANIC, LOCALLY SOURCED PLANT-BASED INGREDIENTS WHENEVER POSSIBLE!
